About Me

JB is an Air Force photojournalist veteran. From 2012-2020 he told the Air Force’s story and stories on America’s Airmen. In his time in the military he shot jets flying faster than the speed of sound, paratroopers falling to the ground, young men turning wrenches, and soldiers jumping into trenches. JB’s job was to tell the story of America’s Airmen, and boy do they have a story to be told.

Jonathan is the son of a retired Marine and a retired hippy.

He was born in Japan, in 1989. He grew up in Southern California where everything was within an hour drive.

In 2011, Jonathan moved to North Carolina where he lived for a year-and-a-half before enlisting in the United States Air Force as a photojournalist.

From 2012-2020, Jonathan captured Air Force imagery, told Airmen’s stories, and handled community and media relations for two units, the 20th Fighter Wing at Shaw Air Force Base, South Carolina, and the 86th Airlift Wing, Ramstein Air Base, Germany.

During this time, he honed his craft, expanding his skills to include videography and radio broadcasting. Jonathan attended an advanced journalism course at the Defense Information School at Fort Meade, Maryland, in 2018, and completed the requirements for his Associate’s of Science degree in Mass Communications from the Community College of the Air Force. He is currently attending Liberty University where he is pursuing a Bachelor’s of Science in Integrated Communications.
